The Mundelein Firefighter's Association is proud to host the largest swap meet in the Midwest dedicated to fire equipment. We have had vendors and buyers from all over the country buying and selling books, magazines, collectibles, t-shirts, sweatshirts, toys, tools, equipment and much, much, more!
The 2011 Swap Meet will be held on October 30th

If you want it, it is here! Food and beverages are also available. Join us at the Mundelein High School. Here is a little history for all those who are not familiar with this terrific event. In 1979, Jim Carew, a former Lieutenant for the Mundelein Fire Department, presented the idea as a fund raising event for the Mundelein Firefighter Association. The original meet had only 19 tables from which vendors sold goods and was held at Countryside Fire station #1, located on Midlothian Rd. The event was relocated to Mundelein High School due to the extensive growth.
This year that number has increased to 60 vendors and over 132 tables including the Northern Illinois Fire Museum, Fire Buffs of Illinois and many others. Once inside, you will be surrounded with firefighting paraphernalia including antiques, collectibles, knickknacks, toys, equipment and clothing. It has traditionally been held during October because it is after the start of school and before Christmas.
Do not miss this grand event because there are only a few swap meets similar throughout the entire Midwest, with Mundelein’s being the largest. That is the reason this swap meet attracts vendors from all over Illinois and as far as Colorado and Nebraska. Not only can one find great gifts for others, but if you are a hobbyist or simply love to exchange great fire fighting stories or experiences, then this is the place for you.
